Valentines Vow
Rose has been my fantasy since I knew lust,
her crafty smile has cast a spell on me,
and I have seen her in my arms,
in my dreams of course.
So days ago she brought up the talk,
said she had no one to buy her a rose,
that on the day of love she'd lack a hand to lean on,
that she'd be a lonely soul,
sealed in her cage of a room by lack of option.
Well, I couldn't leave a chance to waste and offered myself,
A day with this queen was worth all,
and my heart nodded even before my conscience,
and so it was sealed, she'd me mine, at least for a day.
She accepted my overpriced flower with a grin,
and topped it up with a hug that squeezed all worry out,
we went skating and she clung on me,
sending me wild in ecstacy,
made me feel a protector.
My firm grip assured her of safety,
And I hoped she'd see that in me and stay,
I wished to relive the moment for eternity with her.
Under the cool shade she sang to me,
lit up embers of love that had been tucked away in my loneliness,
Her slender fingers fed me,
And in the breeze I saw us at sea,
swimming in the ocean of our love.
Under the heat of the sheets she sang my name,
with closed eyes and a lip between her teeth,
said she loved me, and I said the same,
she wished the moment would last,
and I wished it would know no end.
Now this silence kills me,
seems she changed her mind,
the fires she lit still burn inside,
but it wanes with every passing minute.
She went with the fuel and I dread the ashes that will remain,
I wish she could stay but it seems it was just for a day,
I am left with memories but I wish for another day.
When she whispered me her love,
was it the peak of her bliss,
or was it just a Valentines vow?
her crafty smile has cast a spell on me,
and I have seen her in my arms,
in my dreams of course.
