*TRUE FRIEND*

Thought it was a pat
It was a stub on the back
In mind a series of flashbacks
When they bonded over bucks
It's true now to him
“Not all are on your side”

When they rolled on alloy rims
Drunk from cups full to the brim
For him, that of which he had a dream
Had come to be true
All deals gone through
But friends, never were they true

Afraid to say a prayer
To the God he despised
Clouded by fear is his heart
In mind a cloud of regrets
Used up and left out
Seeing darkness at daytime

All faces he sees  smiling
To him are a snare to the soul
In trouble left solo
After him trouble follows
He feels like an outcast
Painful are wounds from the past

Kneels down in pain
He yearns for food and water
Both for the body and soul
From him a short prayer comes
To Him that is refuge for all
Looks up with a pain ridden smile
He has found ONE to trust
