The Fault In My Heartbeat
Blue lights,
Silent skies,
Nights of serenity.
Tonight will be the peak of all nights,
In the comfort of your chest,
Heartbeat against my ear,
Your arm on my shoulder,
Warm breathe.
I will realise what I want to be.
I want to be free,
I want to be locked up.
I want to be silent,
I want to shout at the top of my voice,
I want to listen as you speak,
To speak as you listen.
I want to shatter beneath you,
Your palms in my hair.
I want you next to me.
I don't know about fairy tales,
I don't know about kings and queens.
I know of us,
The sincerity in your eyes,
The gait in your steps,
The bass in your voice,
Your lips against mine,
Our bodies on each other,
Sweet sensation of pain,
Pleasurable pain,
Tucked below the sheets,
Sweat, Sweat, sweat.
Sweet sweat.
One look in your eyes,
A touch of your hair,
Something unexplainable will engulf my body.
It will be beautiful,
It will be out of this world.
And against all odds,
The morning will creep in faster than normal.
We'll cling to the bedsheets,
To the memories of the past hours,
To the voices in our heads.
Our hearts will sing a song of jubilee,
Our minds will dance to that tune,
And our bodies will overcome all fears.
And when all this is over,
I shall call you mine,
Protect your shine with my glow,
Kiss your neck each morning.
We'll get lost in each other's dreams,
Draw patterns in the sand,
Your hand will be my guide,
And my voice a melody in your ears.
For when the dusk comes again,
It will just be you in me.
The fault in my heartbeat.
Silent skies,
Nights of serenity.
Tonight will be the peak of all nights,
In the comfort of your chest,
Heartbeat against my ear,
Your arm on my shoulder,
Warm breathe.
I will realise what I want to be.
