The Eternity Of A Mother's Love

by Early Bird Poetry Challenge 8 years ago 👁 641 views ❤ 92
Time stands still
Motions of life seem unreal
Everything seems forever
And its essence vanishes
It’s not important anymore
For knowledge of eternity and forever
Makes eternity worth it
And forever not.

But nothing in life seems eternal
Its need hence no more
But love is eternal
Though constant it is not
It sways like trees to the whispers of the wind
And can be contained like freedom
Though its very nature is to be free.

A mother’s love, though love in its name
Is that which is constant
And that which cannot be contained.

It blooms even in the unpredictability of life
Like a flower accustomed to the nature of the desert
It flourishes, even when not wanted,
Giving, giving, giving but never taking
Filling, filling, filling, but never empty
Hopeful, that even in the midst of storms
Its eternal nature will prevail.

A mother’s love is fierce, like the fiercest of storms
To protect its own
But gentle like the whitest of doves, on its own
A mother’s love
Defies the nature of life
Its essence is present, its need.
Because it’s eternal and not forever
It can be counted on
For it is constant.
