THE CRASH

With a festive season
Smiles need no explanation or reason
Family and friends and family friends
Blooming flowers and booming music
One more time in our times
Coming together after a year of hustle

With the cough of the engine
Silent prayers kick in
Trusting in sobriety of the wheelman
To many destinations ahead
With every mile travelled
Hearts hold on tight,
None knows what lies ahead

Slow music kicks in
The wheel feels great
Slowly into slumber
He is tempted to close an eye
It's fatigue; he's overworking
Spent his night behind the wheel
He still is there for a coin

He didn't hear them screaming
He didn't listen to his advice
He didn't see it coming
He was off from this world
He never will be back
He rushed for a coin
He crashed head on.
