Take Me Home
Take me home,
Where I'm sure my Mama will be waiting for me,
Having cooked sumptuous sweet potatoes and traditional porridge,
Preserving them in that warm corner near the fire,
Her instincts telling her that her son must be hungry,
Please take me home.
Take me home,
Where I'll receive a warm welcome from my siblings,
Like the prodigal son...
Sitting in a circle and I at the centre,
Eagerly waiting for the sweet stories of my encounters,
Their eyes urging me to continue whenever I pause,
Please take me home.
Take me home,
This adventure is becoming too long and tiresome,
Human souls slowly fading into the lake,
Beasts arising with inhumanity,
None caring about the other's interests,
Please take me home.
Take me home,
I feel lonely and desperate,
Nobody is concerned with my affairs,
Nobody listens to my pleas,
At home Mama would be wiping my tears,
Please take me home.
Take me home,
I won't induce from where I am anymore,
Let the cool breeze from the lake be my comfort,
Let me sit and watch as the beasts enjoy their sumptuous meals,
Let me sit and contemplate on what to tell Mama,
Please take me home.
