Spurned Love
The sky starts to fade,
Into muted pastels,
And the day enters into dusk,
The white street lights,
A clear indication of the black night.
I know am nothing,
Close to a lustrous white pearl,
But I do know my worth,
I know I'll never be his,
But I do think of it sometimes,
I knew he hated me,
But not to the depths of hell,
Not to the point where,
He'd openly insult me and throw
me out to the streets.
"Hey beautiful."
I looked up to see a man
Standing nearby me,
He wasn't alone though,
There were about six of them,
I didn't bother to count them all,
I was too caught up in my fear,
His cold dark eyes,
And that evil smirk on his face,
Made me shiver,
The cold breeze kissed my soft skin,
Bringing me back to reality.
I didn't think twice,
And made a run for it,
My legs were hurting me so much,
I kept running though,
Until I ended up in a dark alley,
As they all surrounded me,
My last thought was,
I hope he regrets throwing me out to the streets,
I hope the guilt will
Never give him peace.
