She Asked For Me
She asked for my avocation,
I told her it's walking in the rain,
For the drops and ripples to carry away the tears,
My tears that consistently shed.
She asked of my seclusion,
I told her it's my lone companion,
That helps me handle the distress,
Without inflicting on those who care.
She asked of my wary,
I told her it's the only tool I own,
To protect my heart from the break,
And keep it for the owner to come.
She asked of my smile amidst tears,
I told her it's the solo trap I have,
To hide my claws from the eyes,
And ensnare the prey on the way.
She asked of my love,
I told her I never knew what it meant,
'Cause she blindfolded me not to see,
Before she left me in the wild.
She asked for my hand,
I gave it to her with a heart,
Believing she was my heaven sent,
To lead me through the dark and solitary planet.
