Letting Go

Truly I loved,
with everything I had,
leaving her I never wanted,
Like glue to her I sticked,
To her I was blinded.

But my feelings she never cared,
on me every argument landed,
like blows one after another they followed,
Those irresistible I admitted,
While others I dodged.

My presence she never appreciated,
my face to her choked,
From a distance she saw me and hid,
told her friends to say she wasn't around,
I was tired.

Had thought we could develop,
In higher levels to gallop,
Our love picture to crop,
Not at one time to stop,
Love jokers we could mop.

But this was too much,
I could not forever munch,
Tears,hurting,sorrows was my lunch,
It was too much,
Too much to bear,
For to her I was in the rear,
My life she turned sour,

Had to stand up as a man,
A man still a son,
For from truth, I could not run,
But this had to be done,
I had to leave,
To abandon her bitter knife...
