Last Night
Last night was a mistake we need to erase.
It was a mixture of anxiety and rushed yeses,
It was a moment of bliss and smiles
Now, consequences stare me in the face
And whisper with Destiny about my Fate.
Last night was a memory we need to forget.
Our hearts raced and adrenaline rushed
Driving us over the edge
And gave us a taste of paradise itself.
We had our moment and now guilt haunts me.
Last night was a flash in history.
Like lightning, it's a moment passed
And now thunder thuds in my heart.
I fear mud and skids that linger
In wait to break my limbs and pierce my self.
Last night was a hole in our conscience.
Now we need our sane selves back,
Mend bends and knit heart breaks
With the spirit of Kenya at heart.
We need to forget last night
And harness warmth that morning brings.
It was a mixture of anxiety and rushed yeses,
It was a moment of bliss and smiles
Now, consequences stare me in the face
And whisper with Destiny about my Fate.
Last night was a memory we need to forget.
Our hearts raced and adrenaline rushed
Driving us over the edge
And gave us a taste of paradise itself.
We had our moment and now guilt haunts me.
Last night was a flash in history.
Like lightning, it's a moment passed
And now thunder thuds in my heart.
I fear mud and skids that linger
In wait to break my limbs and pierce my self.
Last night was a hole in our conscience.
Now we need our sane selves back,
Mend bends and knit heart breaks
With the spirit of Kenya at heart.
We need to forget last night
And harness warmth that morning brings.
