Irreplaceable Gem

The first time i saw you,
Limp in your walk, shyness on your face,
There was a thing about how you smiled,
The perfect alignment of your teeth maybe.
You were talking in low tones, almost in whispers.
There was something about you that i couldnt quite place a finger on.

Day by day we became fond of each other.
Like chicks we watched each other grow,
Protected each other from the hawks' snatch.
We talked on and on and throghout the night,
Unknowingly growing inseparable.

Like a spark our lives merged into each other,
You listened to all my cries and troubles,
You told me it was okay to be wrong,
That i will not have everything i wish to have.
You taught me life

You taught me life from the simplest point of view,
And above all, you labelled me a unique woman.

And now I look at you and smile,
Admiring your strength, openness and love for life,
You are great and irreplaceable.

Let's tell the stories our way. Let them have it their way.
