Hero

I speak hero,
From all the way up zero,
Fighters of our freedom,
In our eyes  let us see them
Their vision to change the form of our lives,
Their struggle in the wars of battle,
Dedan Kimathi,Bildad Kagia,the Kapenguria six and all our heroes of freedom,
We honor them.
 
Women of Grace Gathon,Field Marshal the great,
All  fighters to their fate,
The Maumau, they did it all for our slate,
Died for us and bled on the grass.
 
Fought and died by the sword,
That couldn't match the colonizers guns,
But we appreciate the strands,
And scars on your hands,
Let us honor our beloved,
The graves that  are in our backyard,
We are proudly Kenyan,
Independence sacrificed by a few to save lives of many.
