Goodbye Girl

Stars align as a sign of what's to come,
or so I thought in love.
Mine were aligned in an order
lesser only to perfectness itself
and my queen resided in you.

It was always a string of debts,
at least you called them dates.
Sullen faces and silent treatments.
Oh, you gave me those, in abundance
till in quitting I found solace
and now you come back wanting a second chance.

No, I am not for you,
my heart needs a rest from all the juggles,
my soul needs a rest from all the silent chuckles.
When you spit on my face
I washed it away with tears
and my love for you dirtied my drain on it's way out.
I know the pain,
birthed by your cash-sparked lust,
and bruised by the pain of rejection by you,
and bandaged by the laughter of men,
men who found glitter in your smile.

My hugs meant nothing,
my little surprises turned into little clown shows to you,
my kisses felt like mere smears on your meager lips,
All my efforts were just an evening wind,
laden with hopes to sway a tree off its feet.

You rooted your pride in glittery glamour,
Your well of charms has dried up
and now their faith in you has dwindled,
they see scars where they saw glitter in your smile,
and you come back with a tinge of hope,
that angels wiped your actions off my pages of life.

I watched my love for you rove away,
slowly down the slope and took a plunge,
now it is drowned, too deep to reach,
the pass of pardon burnt in embers that remained,
and now I have just one thing to say.

Goodbye girl, I'm not for you.
