For Mama Salome

Mama Salome, wife and mother to Rapando,
Two men, one great,
The other aspiring to be great,
Mama Salome, I met your son,
And with greetings he had words to say.

He says he's proud of you,
I asked him why because,
On Facebook I saw not your picture on Mama's day,
He says,
Each day that he breathes is his Mama's day,
He says,
Each day he takes a step is his Mama's day,
He says, anytime he thinks of a wonderful person,
Your photo is posted on his mind.

He says he misses your talk and joke
He says he misses your wit and smile,
He says he takes after your talk,
He says he admires your courage,
He says, even with your carefree nature you're the most caring,
He says, he admires your kindness and generosity,
He says, he looks up to you.

He thanks you for all times you stood for the family,
He thanks you for maintaining the unity,
He thanks you for the prayers,
He thanks you for the sacrifice, great and little,
He thanks you for being there.

He says he will come to see you before two moons pass,
He says he will tell you of adventures of the city,
He says he'll answer the questions and laugh the evening away,
He says he will listen to the events of the village,
He says, he will sit with you at sunset,
And watch the red big ball in the horizon,
He says he misses that tea - a perfect mix,
He says,
He can't thank you enough,
He says,
He is a product of a brave spirit,
And he won't let you down.
