Cold Night

COLD NIGHT

The drizzle stops
The noise comes to an end
No Children singing
Only crickets shouting
The cold sets in
With a heartbreak pain

Pain,
That goes deep within
Beyond flesh and bone
I can not say I'm done
I sit and hope for light
Maybe morning will come

Tonight mosquitoes are silent
I think they feel my trouble
Or maybe I'm deep in wreathing
Too deep to hear mosquito melodies
It's dawn of darkness

When we watched the moon
And stars alike
Walks we took at noon
Lovebirds from the moon
Now gone with the waters
Of the rain that came
A rain of mistrust

The very breeze we enjoyed
Now a storm that I fight
The love we shared
Now hate I endure
The praises I received
Now ridicule I persevere
The pain is severe.
