Brainwashed
Reason is for the old
Sanity is for the lost
Wisdom is for the gods
But carelessness is for us- the blemished generation
I look at the world around me, and all I see are tools
People at the mercy of someone else’s judgement
All I see are guns
At the mercy of someone else’s shooting skills
Isn’t is sad, that we kill ourselves trying to impress someone else’s fickle mind?
We say that we are the children of unsure parents
The product of an artificial world
That it is not our fault we can’t think for ourselves
That they made us into what we are- uncaring human beings only interested in material things
We were born into a changing world
And rather than establishing our roots
We allowed ourselves to be carried away by the wind
Headed towards an uncertain future
Away from a past that we dismissed
We redefined our circumstances
And made it so that we could only breeze through life
Made it impossible to stop and enjoy the view
What we called progress destroyed us.
What we called friendship poisoned us.
What we called love killed us.
What we called beauty made us hate ourselves.
What we called trendy sucked the life out of us.
What we believed in broke us.
We saw ourselves fade away, and we blamed them
The unsure parents. The distant government. The silent old people
But how can we blame society, when we are society?
