Before I Saw The Light.

From birth I started my life as a race,
Without proper knowledge of Christ
Roaming into every place,
Each time wanting to shine and reflect like the glass,
All through I relied on knowledge obtained from class,
Unaware that in salvation I was Unstable like grass,
Without His grace,
I couldn't see his face,
My life was a disgrace,
My education lied,
That all I needed to make it in life were my grades,
It took me as grapes,
Squeezed me, just to attain success.

My Christian life was plain,
Most were the times I was a seat warmer or a backbencher under the fan,
The things I considered fun threw me from the frying pan,
To the boiling hell void of fans,
Minutes through seconds I made plans,
Which in the end left me in extreme pain,
Fake smiles and contentment on my face I would paint,
Hoping against doubts that I'd have some gains,
Purposelessly hopping into the ready train.

Now Lord that I've known you I pray to discover my purpose,
Away from fracas,
Destined to survive, not to be a decaying carcass,
For survival depending not in the circus,
But in You alone I trust,
In You alone I believe,
With You alone I choose to walk in faith,
Live in the purpose that you created me for,
Guided by your Holy Spirit enlightened by your light.

Speaks of the unspoken.
