Am Not Your Blood

Every night
I cry myself to sleep
Fearing for the next day to come
A day that will be spent with you in my life
But what can I do
Am not your blood.

I clearly remember, that fateful day
I was left alone with you in the house.
Mum said all will be well for she would not be long.
Oh, yes she was.
Those were the longest 2hrs of my life.
I remember the look you gave me’ the moment you pounced on me,
Tearing my clothes apart.
You said I was wasting your money for nothing,
That you had to reward yourself,
And you did,
My innocence stolen from me,
At that tender young age...
All this you did,
Because am not your blood.

When mum came home,
She whipped me sore
My back ached for a week
For I told her what happened,
She called me a big fat liar,
Defended you with her life,
Said I was lying against you just simply because,
Am not your blood.

Today I cry every night,
For you have made it a routine
I can do nothing to defend myself,
I can only cry,
And hope someone will save me from this man,
Regardless of whether or not,
Am not your blood

Sad but true, Thanks for writing about what society hushes. Many girls out there have been in one way or another sexually harassed but they keep quiet about it
