Agonized Reminisce

When I knew her I knew love,
Her smile promised a future of laughs,
My eyes got accustomed to her smooth curves
And her dimples divided my attention in half.

She welcomed me to her life
And allowed me into her lows and highs.
My hopes: she made them fly high
And gave me reason to hold on tight.

She wiped my doubts,
With confidence made my heart shout.
In her presence my heartbeat got so loud
My cavity threatened to wander around.

When I saw her walk away my joy went with her
She left me half human - half hurt.
My thoughts danced, trapped in memories past
And my heart left to pump warmth in a carcass.

My heart is now a playground of doubt and trust,
My mind hosts debates on deceits and love.
So much I find it impossible to focus
When I know she only loved his four cars.

I will let destiny decide my fate
And my broken heart resume its old rate,
But don't return, my heart is a closed gate.
Just stay with your bait.
