A Round Of Applause
By Mbogow the Poet
No matter how expensive the fuel was,
You always made sure when parking the tank always full was,
You went against all odds,
To make sure that in good shape I always was,
You deserve better but just receive this round of applause.
As little as I was you showed great care,
Care that none to show would ever dare,
Dare you lie to me, the rod I will not spare,
Spare the rod and spoil the child was the affair,
A fair thing you truly did that made me what I am today,
You deserve better but just receive this round of applause.
Today I say you have been my favorite since I set my eyes on you for the
first day,
With a smile, you watched me cry and sleep,
And with love you let me live,
You did not give up on me but in problems you always held my hand and said.
“son, lets dive,”
Throughout my childhood I was the force that you I did drive,
To do things that made sure I would live,
You deserve better but just receive this round of applause.
A big heart indeed,
You took the biggest place in my heart by your deeds,
Your motherly love which made you fulfill my needs,
Nothing ever went the wrong way which I learnt after interacting with other
kids,
Mother, you have been and will always be my best.
You deserve better but just receive this round of applause.
A vote of no confidence cannot be passed on you,
You are irreplaceable like a place on a queue,
With outbursts of love you showed me what life is,
Truly you’ll never miss of my heart a big piece.
You deserve better but just receive this round of applause.
