A Reign Of Terror
A REIGN OF TERROR by RICHARD MAISIBA.
You call yourself government
authority, rescue team all the same,
where do you come in?
where and when do you help?
at what time?
Floods everywhere
people are misplaced
livestock perishes
and property destroyed
is it an impossible thing to fight ?
is it a giant or monster to our leaders?
Red cross begs from the few survivors
and you say you are a government
The promises you made
during your campaigns
a government
integrity and corruption free
honesty and transparency
are still valid in our minds
empty promises
none has been fulfilled
Your posters, all over written
good leadership and change
plus huge images of yours
day in day out we look at them
and wonder what you promised
and now what you're doing
it leads us into thinking
do you really have human qualities?
It's sad and painful
if what we are going through
is what will continue all through
you better pass it a law
not to give birth anymore
I can't live to see
my forthcoming kids suffering: the way I have suffered.
