Once in a decade or entire life,
You meet this soul so tender,
That turns your world around,
The soul that plays your favorite tune,
The tune that soothes your soul,
Or brightens your gloomy face,
And paint your heart red,
Like I did once in the past.
She was the best of them,
The pal of life to say,
She was my sun in the dark,
My rain in the desert,
She was my blanket amidst coldness,
My alpenstock when drunk,
She carried my world in her hands.
She explained affection to me in silence,
Only by her actions in my heart,
She made me believe the lie,
That imperfection was null,
For with her all proved perfect,
As her killing smile concealed our flaws,
Not to expose one to the sun
She made me fall in love with life,
Despite the torrid mountains we would climb,
For with her all was light,
The conundrums seemed all solved,
And paradise appeared to be our asylum,
In the world of our own
They say nothing lasts forever,
I believed this when she went away,
And left me wandering in the wild,
Hanging lonesome in a thin thread,
With no grass to grasp,
Or no shoulder to lean on and cry,
I visited our past and sighed in tears,
'It lasted forever, but ended too soon'
